Being blessed to live in the agricultural belt of Hawai’i Island in South Kona for nearly 30 years has inspired me to expand my knowledge to be a steward of the land and malama ka ‘aina as a UH Manoa Master Gardener and an ISA Certified Arborist. I appreciate that we can grow our own food year round, which I do to an extent and I enjoy sharing what I've learned. This knowledge base and skillset contributes to how land properties and farms; both Fee Simple and Leasehold have become one of my areas of expertise.
I spent years traveling and I have lived in many places and climates. I strongly believe that Hawai’i Island is the best place in the world to live for so many reasons. I Love this Island, the people and the culture. I am grateful and humbled to call Hawai’i home. This island offers different climates, amenities and vibes. I trust that most people can figure out which area is a good fit for them. This may be dictated by distance to work, weather, property values or lifestyle amenities. I can assist you with determining where on Hawai’i Island best suits you.
When I'm not working, you'll find me singing, in the garden, cooking, playing with my 2 rescue dogs, working on home projects, at the beach and frequenting Farmer's Markets. I believe in eating local and supporting local businesses.

My husband Richard Parmenter and I (Teresa) moved to Oahu January 30, 2013. Within 6 months to a year we realized we wanted to investigate purchasing "raw" land. Knowing that is impossible on Oahu, we decided to visit the Big Island. To make a long story short, we were put in touch with Tanya Sunshine. (Her last name says it all - a great attitude and wonderful if not not "sunny" disposition).
Tanya started the process by sending us listings via the web for the Kona area. We immediately found several properties we were interested in seeing.
We made travel plans to meet Tanya on Kona and she spent the entire day with us looking at lots in the Milolii area. She definitely knows her way around the Captain Cook area as well as Milolii. She went above and beyond what we were expecting. She is very knowledgeable and after choosing a lot, she started work immediately.
Her professionalism and knowledge sped the process along and we became proud owners of our "raw" land within 30 days, give or take.
