“Lucky we live Hawaii” is a saying you’ll hear all over the islands – sometimes said emphatically in response to something being appreciated about our island home. Sometimes you’ll hear it said in relationship to how the lifestyle in Hawaii is, well, a bit more “laid back” than most places on the mainland. Today I said it loudly! I was a little bit in awe of my own job with a 9am meeting at my new $1.59M listing at Kohala Ranch and the prospective buyer a celebrity.
Okay, so he’s not a movie star sort of celebrity, but most men of a certain age would know this person, and that’s all I’m going to say about THAT… but as everyone else was staring at the amazing Kohala “Gold” Coast Views from the generously-sized covered lanai (this house has sunset views over the ocean 365 days a year, wow. The ultimate in outdoor living!) I was busy studying this person and how comfortable they were in their own skin. Fascinating. And fun.
The thing about showing property to celebrities, It turns out, is they are just like us! They get excited about houses, fall in love with views, ask questions about renovations, make jokes about the neighbors… and since most of them are owners of multiple properties, they may be as savvy regarding their purchase in Hawaii as most traditional “investors.” Which is refreshing, and again fun, because when the stories start to flow… Let’s just say I learned a lot about a few different real estate markets – and developers – in the country. And a little bit more about this very interesting, engaging, charismatic, fun celebrity person. Lucky I live Hawaii, indeed!!
