Ironman World Championship on October 12
Excitement is building for the Ironman World Championship on Hawaii Island’s west side Saturday, October 12 — and, if you’re on-island, no doubt you have seen athletes training on our roadways for this granddaddy of all triathlons! The annual event attracts thousands of extreme athletes from around the globe to vie for the coveted women’s’ and men’s’ titles.

The day starts early in Kailua-Kona for the swim segment before participants jump on their bikes for the roundtrip journey to Hawi at the northernmost end of the island. Homeowners at Ke Kailani join neighbors and friends at the entrance to Mauna Lani Resort to cheer on the racers as they fly by on their high-performance bikes on their way up and back again.
Ke Kailani is a gated, boutique-sized new community at the southernmost – and most tranquil – end of the iconic Mauna Lani Resort.
