In the business of real estate, the Big Island of Hawaii has no shortage of natural wonders that positively impact a property’s value. None seem to generate quite as much excitement, however, as waterfalls. So, what is it? Why do we love waterfalls so much?
1. Waterfalls Release Millions of Negative Ions, Stimulating the Immune System
“Waterfalls lead to a lasting improvement of the respiratory system and pulmonary function.” Scientific tests have shown that even people with allergies or asthma were able tho significantly reduce their symptoms over a longer period of exposure.
The Grossglockner Hochalpenstrassen AG commissioned the Paracelsus Private Medical University in Salzburg to conduct a scientific study. They found that “The miniute, electrically-charged water particles that travel from the micro-fine spray of the Krimml Waterfalls to the respiratory system and lungs are important for the cleansing effect of the lungs, leading to a lasting, efficient, symptomatic and immunological improvement.”
2. Waterfalls Soothe the Soul
The sights and sounds of waterfalls can lower blood pressure and help our bodies relax.
3. Waterfalls Are a Great Venue to Entertain
Friends and family love to play under, swim around, and just put their feet up near waterfalls. Sharing and experiencing Mother Nature’s gifts with others is a memorable and rewarding way to spend time with friends and loved ones.
4. Waterfalls Are Never Boring
They change with weather conditions in upland areas. One day, your backyard waterfall is a rushing, gushing band of excitement. A week later, you might have a lovely, soft trickle.
5. Kids Think Waterfalls Are Cool
I’m all for anything that gets my kids out of the house and away from screens.
There is currently a property available on the dry side of Waimea with a natural waterfall and a natural swimming pool. Called Hale Wailele (in Hawaiian means “House of the Waterfall”), a beautiful 5 bedroom home sits slightly above the fall, pool and stream. Unlike rainy climates where most waterfalls are located, this waterfall is located in a sunny, arid breezy climate.
62-2207 Ouli St. A, Dry Side Waimea, (MLS# 283201)
Check out the slideshow for Hale Wailele. This property consists of 2.6 acres of land and an architect-designed 3,700 square foot home. Available fee simple for $1.995M. See Listing Details.
