Kauai’s East Side is a hidden gem in itself. Between the variety of great food and coffee shops, the many beaches, and the great community lifestyle you can’t go wrong. Here’s a look into my top 3 reasons to live on Kauai’s East Side.
Who Doesn’t Love Food?
Good quality food can sometimes be hard to come by, especially without breaking the bank. The cool thing about the East Side is that there is so much variety from the food trucks to fancy dinner spots and everything in between. My favorite way to start the day is heading to one of the many locally-owned coffee shops. If you are out and about for lunch there any many casual sit-down lunch spots and quick to-go pick ups. Tiki Tacos is definitely top of my list for a quick lunch. The dinner spots are also one-of-a-kind gems. From the local feel of The Bullshed Restaurant which has an old Hawaiian flare to it, to Sam’s Ocean View which definitely has a more modern twist. There is something for everyone on the East Side.
The Beautiful Beaches!
Having a beach to go to is one thing, but having a surplus of beautiful beaches meeting all different needs is a win in my book. Kauai’s East Side has just that. From easy access spots to bring the kids, to beautiful hidden beaches that take a little hike to reach, it has it all. A favorite to many is Kealia Beach which is located on the North Side of Kapaa. You can post up with the family for the day or head out for a good surf when that East Side swell comes in. Another good spot to hang for the day is Wailua Beach. It’s the perfect place to bring the kids to play or just to soak up the sun and enjoy a nice swim. No better feeling than spending the day at the beach.
Community Lifestyle
A great community lifestyle is something to be cherished. Having that sense of community and small town feel is a great characteristic to have in a place you would want to settle in. One thing this community definitely does have at your finger tips just about every day of the week are farmers markets. Who wouldn’t want to get locally grown fruits and veggies! Kapaa town has also had a couple of new renovations. The improved skate park in town and the added trail down to the bike path from the Kapahi area are definitely a plus. With plenty of hiking trails and historical spots to visit and learn about, it makes Kauai’s East Side a special place to be.

> 1 bedrooms range from about $1,200 to $2,000. There are lots of good studios and ohana units as well that start at about $900.
