The Power of a 90-Day Cycle

Can you believe that we are in the final stretch of 2024? What do you plan to do over the next 90 days? It may sound appealing to just coast your way into 2025, but consider this: the final stretch of the year can be a great time to show up for yourself, recommit to your goals, and drive results.

According to Mike Ferry, a well-known real estate coach, there is power in a 90-Day Cycle. When you think about it, a 90-day window is just the right amount of time to do something special. It’s not too short and it’s not too long. We’ve all experienced—and understand—just how hard it is to make big adjustments in a day or two. At the same time, we all know how difficult it can be to stay on track for months and months at a time. Perhaps that is why so many diet and exercise plans fail. Sigh.

The good news is that when you just look at what you can do within the next ninety days, you can get a good idea of what you can actually accomplish. Your ability to estimate your capacity is more realistic and you are able to make substantial progress toward a big goal.

So, what can you do over the next 90 days to enhance your home, your business, and your life?

Here are just a few simple tips to get you started:

1. Look at Your Calendar

Determine what you want to accomplish and then decide what days you are going to do the things that will move you toward your goal. Get creative and redesign your schedule for the next 90 days. It’s amazing how even small changes in your routine, along with the right focus, can make a difference. A big difference. Can you carve out some time to do the one or two things you want to accomplish over the next 90 days? Are you willing to make adjustments to your schedule? Your habits and routine?

2. Create the Right Environment

Take a look around you. What do you need to change or remove from your environment? Regardless of what you’re trying to accomplish over the next 90 days, your surroundings matter—a lot. As much as possible, optimize your space so that it is conducive to your goals. Does your environment keep you energized? Does it encourage and support your success? Surround yourself with things that will inspire you and do your best to minimize distractions and interruptions. Since your environment plays a huge role in your success, remove negative things that consume you, e.g., your TV, and incorporate things that inspire and motivate you, like great quotes, inspiring art and books, soothing music, etc.

3. Keep Going

90 days isn’t that long, but it’s still easy to get derailed, so be sure to involve people in your life to help you stay the course. Making yourself accountable to the people who truly care about you and support you is key to your success. No naysayers or underminers allowed.

There are many things you may choose to do over the next 90 days. Perhaps you want to rearrange some things in your home, spend more time with family, lose a few pounds, start a new project, or learn something new. Whatever you decide to do, if you commit to a plan of action, show up for yourself, and live with purpose and intention over the next 90 days, you’ll achieve results.

There is power in a 90-day cycle. With the right mindset, motivation, and movement over the next 90 days, you can do magic.
