Oahu is the third largest island of the Hawaiian chain and is known as “The Gathering Place.” Here you will find the majority of Hawaiʻi’s population, which is a melting pot of so many different ethnicities. Oahu also has the perfect climate for having fun in the sun! Here are just a few ideas of what to do and places to see when visiting Oahu.
Love to golf? Hawaii is a paradise for golfers!
There are over 40 Golf courses on Oahu and seven military courses. Many offer Kamaʻaiana rates (resident rates) at a discounted price. Enjoy the amazing scenery of the ocean or mountain ranges as you take in a round of golf. It’s no wonder golfers from around the world are attracted to Oahu.
Hawaii’s beaches are spectacular!
Spend a day swimming, surfing, kayaking or snorkeling at any of the many beaches here! You’ll find lagoons, rocky beaches and white sandy beaches with waves perfect for surfing. No matter where you go on Oahu, you will find a beach that is right for you!
Hawaii is home to so many beautiful hiking trails.
Take a hike through a bamboo forest or hike Diamond head. Want to do the ultimate Stair Master? Forget the gym and hike Koko Head crater. The climb can be challenging but you’ll love the feeling when you reach the top and admire the breathtaking, 360 degree views! (Be sure to bring along your camera, water and sunscreen).
A visit to Pearl Harbor is an attraction you must see when visiting Oahu.
Visit the USS Arizona Memorial which is the final resting place of many of our nation’s finest Service members. A boat ride only takes a few minutes to the memorial. It is truly an emotional and unforgettable experience.
Visit the North Shore and experience the countryside.

Make a stop in Haleiwa which is a quaint, beach town with great restaurants and wonderful little boutiques. Want to be really adventurous? Jump off the rock with the locals at Waimea Bay! Stop at the legendary Matsumoto’s for shave ice and be sure to try the savory shrimp plates at many of the local shrimp trucks.
End your day watching the beautiful sunsets and head to a luau.

Paradise Cove and Germaine’s are two popular luaus found on the west side of the island. Listen to traditional Hawaiian music, bring your appetite for a feast and watch the performers as they perform Hawaiian and Polynesian dances under the stars!
