New Kailua-Kona Road Ane Keohokalole Highway Opens with Future Big Island Developments Expected
A new middle road opened for Kona commuter traffic! Located at the top of Henry Street and Palani Road, Ane Keohokalole Hwy. will be a great road for local traffic to get to town or Costco, without having to merge with visitor traffic on Queen Kaahumanu Hwy.
Ane Keohokalole Hwy. offers very scenic ocean, town and harbor views along the way. The speed limit is 35 mph, so be careful as it will be a mixed residential area with turn offs and other side streets coming soon! Below are a couple of videos of the drive.
Video Tour #1
This first video is going toward the West Hawaii Civic Center
Video Tour #2
This second video is taken from the Costco road of Hina Lani Street to the top of Henry Street and Palani Road
I found a great video blog of Mayor Kenoi speaking of the opening of Ane Keohokalole Highway and future developments that will be up and coming in the area – very exciting!
New Development of Kamakana Villages at Keahuolu
There is also a new development called Kamakana Villages at Keahuolu, along with many public facilities that will enhance our Kona community, and they will be using Ane Keohokalole Hwy. for ingress and egress into these neighborhoods. I also wrote a blog on Kamakana Villages at Keahuolu, one of the developments planned for the area between Kealakehe High School and Henry Street.
If you’d like more information on up and coming real estate available in the area, I would be happy to connect you as the information comes available! And if you’d like to be a part of the Grass Roots planning, I can direct you as well~
Happy Trails and Safe Travels!
