I was recently speaking with a client who is thinking of purchasing vacant land in the gated community of Puu Lani Ranch. Puu Lani Ranch is located at the estimated elevation of 2,100′-2,400′ and is between Waikoloa and Kona. Our client was interested in finding out how much a water bill would be since they have private water. The approx. monthly water bill ranged between $150.00 – $250.00. This estimate came from a home that did not have a pool.

That is absolutely the right range for my current listing, http://www.hawaiilife.com/mls/268832/ as they (1) don’t have a pool and (2) turned off their irrigation once the plantings in their yard were well-established. A home with extension lawn and pool could run three times higher!
