Maui Weekend Events – March 28

Aloha friends! Get ready for an action-packed weekend on Maui filled with exciting events and activities that cater to all interests and ages. From colorful runs and whale counting to family-friendly museum days and live music performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Color Dash

This Saturday, King Kekaulike High School will host the highly anticipated Color Dash event, bringing together participants of all ages for a vibrant and exhilarating experience. The event kicks off at 8:30 am, featuring a 5k run where participants are doused in colorful powders at various checkpoints along the route. The Color Dash promises fun-filled activities beyond the run, including live music, food vendors, and interactive games. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply looking for a festive outing, this event offers a unique and joyful way to spend your Saturday while supporting school programs. Don’t forget to wear white for maximum color impact!

The Great Whale Count

The Great Whale Count by Pacific Whale Foundation will also be happening this Saturday, running from 8 am to noon. This annual event offers participants the opportunity to assist in the monitoring and conservation of humpback whales as they migrate through the Hawaiian waters. Volunteers gather at multiple vantage points along Maui’s shores to count the whales and record their behaviors, contributing valuable data to ongoing research efforts. The event is open to all, providing an educational and engaging experience for those passionate about marine life and conservation.

Sugar Museum Family Day

The Sugar Museum Family Day on Maui promises a delightful and educational experience for visitors of all ages. Held this Saturday, the event will take place from 9 am – 1 pm at the historic Sugar Museum. With fun games, craft stations, and local food vendors, the Family Day is a perfect opportunity to learn and celebrate Maui’s agricultural heritage while enjoying a wonderful day with family and friends. This is a free community event.

Live Music at Mulligan’s on the Blue

Mulligan’s hosts 3 nights of great music this weekend.  Friday night, Desert Hollow Band – Backed by Three to 5 will be on stage from 7 – 10 pm. On Saturday, Tarvin Makia will be performing a beautiful set of Hawaiian Music during the sunset.  Showtime is from 6 – 8 pm and dinner seating starts at 5 pm. Reservations are recommended!  And finally on Sunday, Island Soul Band will take the stage from 5 – 8 pm. Island Soul Band is a regular favorite at Mulligan’s. Whatever your music preferences, Mulligan’s has got something for you this weekend.

Ho’omau 2025

The 38th Annual Ho’omau takes place this Saturday from 9:00 am to sunset at the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens. Event benefits the students at Pūnana Leo O Maui, the Hawaiian language immersion preschool located in Wailuku. Live music all day by local bands. Also on site will be Hawaiian crafters and demonstrators, local vendors from all over the island offering food and a keiki zone. Silent auction with some great items also on deck.  This is one of Maui’s biggest and most awaited events and sure to be a great day.

Women Rock!

deVine Wine Lounge Maui presents Women Rock! this Sunday from 2 to 10 pm. This will be a great event to honor talented and amazing women on Maui. Live performances by Makena, Joie Yashi, Tanama and Jo Wolf. Pop-ups for women run businesses on Maui featuring art, jewelry and health and wellness items will be on hand throughout the event. Rose’ specials from 3 – 8 pm. Head down for a fun event that supports women!

Maui Paddling Hui

The Maui Paddling Hui season is winding down. There is no race this weekend. The next race is The North Shore Challenge. The long course will be 23 Miles from Maliko to DT Fleming Park, Day 1 on Saturday, April 5. The short course will be 9 miles from Maliko to Harbor, Day 2 on Sunday April 6.
