Maui Weekend Events – August 16

Aloha friends! This weekend on Maui has some great live music and festivals in store. Ocean Vodka is offering Sunset at the Point at the Distillery with live music both Friday and Saturday nights. Friday’s feature is Jimmy and the Twins and Saturday’s feature is Tempe and Naor. Another option for music on Saturday night is the Maui Songwriter Showcase Rounds by ProArts Maui. If dinner and movie is more your speed, the Huliau Food & Film Festival at Sugar Beach Events is for you. Saturday morning, you can start the day with the Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival at the Queen Kaahumanu Center. Hula and Ukulele workshops will be offered!

Sunset at the Point

Ocean Organic Farm and Distillery presents Sunset at the Point this Friday and Saturday. Saturday’s featured artist is Tempe & Naor. Friday’s feature is Jimmy and the twins. Both shows begin at 5:15 pm and are free to the public but reservations are required. Tickets for Jimmy and the Twins here and Tempe & Naor here.

ProArts Playhouse Maui

ProArts Playhouse brings you the Maui Songwriter Showcase Rounds on Saturday. Show starts at 7:00 pm. The showcase features four of Maui’s most talented songwriters sharing their stories behind the music. Featured artists are Mailani, Rowdy Love, Rabbitt, and Wes Furumoto.

The Huliau Food & Film Festival

Maui Huliau Foundation presents the Huliau Food & Film Festival. Event will take place at Sugar Beach Resorts this Saturday evening from 6 – 8:30 pm. This is a farm-to-table celebration. A five-course meal prepared by local chefs and student-produced films are the features of the night. Sugar Beach Events will run a cash bar. All proceeds benefit the youth programs.

Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival

The Emma Farden Sharpe Hula Festival comes to the Queen Kaahumanu Center this Saturday. Festivities begin at 10 am and run until 5 pm. Hula performances, keiki activities and workshops on hand. Register in advance for hula and/or ukulele workshop.
