You know I love pole houses so when this one (MLS# 344830) came on the market, I felt the need to tell you about it.
658 Kupulau Drive is a 3 bed / 4 bath stunner. It packs in a whopping 4500+ square feet of interior living space, 2000+ square feet of covered deck, a 1 bed /1 bath ohana at 500 square feet…and a pool. Best of all, it’s a Frank Stiller designed pole house.
Frank Stiller, in case you don’t know, is the grandfather of the pole house design here in Hawaii. You can catch up by reading about The Environmentally Friendly Pole House, in which I discuss the energy efficiency factors as well as a brief history of the design.
Anyway, if you are in the price range of $1.5 mil, this may be the home for you.
Tranquil blue tile roof mimics the ocean view. The approach is classic pole house.
Pole houses are know for their lofty ceilings and wonderful great rooms. The ceiling height can easily double the square footage of the house in feeling.
I live in a pole house, but unfortunately, Frank Stiller did not actually construct it. I met with Frank at my house a few weeks ago to see if he remembered designing my house. He did, however, he just drew the plans and another contractor did the building. I can live with that.
In addition to the pole houses’ natural energy efficiency, this home has dual paned windows. Additional amenities include two separate two-car garages, a professionally landscaped and irrigated yard, a rock perimeter wall, and exotic hardwood floors.
Why live in Maui Meadows if you don’t have an ocean view? This one does not disappoint.
