The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is once again offering Mango Madness—a tasting menu at the Manta Restaurant.
For those of you who have not yet experienced Manta, it is worth the time and expense. The food is always fresh, the service is top-notch, and the wine list spectacular. The bar alone is worth a night of wine and pupu tasting, with live music and the “pour your own tasting” style dispensers. Killer.
That being said, it’s good to remember that this is Hawaii and life—and restaurant pace—moves a little slower here. I was amazed when I was in the city last week how quickly most restaurants rush you through the dining experience. My food would arrive within 5 minutes of ordering! Um, that’s great, buuuuttt…how about just a few minutes to savor my cocktail and catch up with my date first?
At Manta you will have all night to dine and enjoy the company with those whom you’ve chosen to share Hawaii and the Mauna Kea experience. Now, a chance to add a little mango. Mmmmmmm…Nothing says Hawaii Life (#hawaiilife) like mango!
