141 picturesque acres is now available in Kapaʻau on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. The views on this farm include both sunrise, sunset, Maui and Lanai.
The Perfect Place to Live and Grow
Located at 1500ft, it is the perfect elevation for growing just about anything, including cacao, coffee, avocado and macadamia nut trees. There is plenty of room for grazing as well. Because of it’s ideal location, it is also the most comfortable climate to live and work. Two building sites are cleared and ready for you to build the “big house.” There is already a large barn, greenhouse and 1,344 ft caretakers home on sight.
Public utilities are available including water and electric. The owners installed solar and have Net Metering with Hawaii Electric. Water is some of the cleanest available. In addition to 30,000 and 10,000 gallon catchment tanks, the Kohala Ditch runs through the property for additional agriculture water.
The 141 acres can be subdivided as it is zoned Agriculture 20 acre.

Kamehameha Day June 11, 2017 Lei Draping Ceremony
Kapaʻau: Hawi’s Neighbor to the East
This property overlooks the town of Kapaʻau, home of the original statue of Kamehameha I. The King was born in North Kohala and grew up here before uniting the Hawaiian Islands and becoming the first ruler of Hawaiʻi. On June 11 we celebrate Kamehameha Day, honoring the statue with leis, hula and chanting. There is also a parade and festival. In addition to historical sites relating to Kamehameha, there is an abundance of reminders of sugar plantation days all over Kohala.
One of the things I love most about living in North Kohala is the authentic culture and traditions that are maintained. For a small community there are numerous opportunities to be involved and enjoy real Hawaiʻi. Learn the language, play an instrument, talk story with the elders and you will be welcomed. Get out and enjoy the natural beauty that is all around. It is a magnificent place to live.
