I had the opportunity to play at Kukui’ula this past Friday after Thanksgiving. It was a chance to relax and “work.” I love that golf fits into selling real estate. Right from the beginning I knew it was going to be a great experience. As soon as I pulled up into the parking lot there was a guy on a cart ready to take my golf bag and to give me a ride to the clubhouse. That just set in motion a great experience for the rest of the day.

What is Kukui’ula?
If you aren’t familiar with Kukui’ula, then I will tell you that it is a high-end luxury development. Over 1,000 acres of homesites, cottages, and golf. It is located on the south side of Kauai in the Poipu area. Homes go from the low millions and up. It is a full-service, private club. Meaning if you own property in Kukui’ula, you and your family have access to the clubhouse, spa, and everything else in between. I am lucky enough to have a couple of friends that own property there. So you better believe I was happy to be invited for a round of golf.

What’s the Golf Course Like at Kukui’ula?
Everything I have heard about the course was true. The Tom Weiskopf 18-hole course is new and maintained in tip top condition. The greens were a bit tricky. Some were fast and some were slow. Made for a challenging day putting. The views from the tee boxes and other places were breathtaking. I took several photos, but they really don’t do it justice. Who doesn’t like ocean views, green landscapes, palm trees, and beautiful sunsets?

The service you receive as a customer or member is top-notch. If you get hungry while you are playing, you can order from your phone and they will deliver to you while you are on the course. Not to mention that there are “hydration” stations with everything from Gatorade to water to little snacks to take along with you.
The driving range has a large sofa in case you wanted to take a break from swinging the clubs. The balls are free while you are there and to top it off, they have a digital range finder there, so you check and see just how far the flag you are hitting to actually is. I spent most of my time hitting to the 60yd, 87yd, and 109yd flags. My short game needs a lot of work!
Everything at Kukui’ula screams high-end. You feel it as you walk through the clubhouse and with the way people greet you at the door.
