Before 8:00 a.m. this morning I received a call from an investor client who was interested in knowing the results of the Kukio auction on 2 residential lots and 3 homes in Kukio and Hualalai resorts, on the Big Island… yes one of which was “Chers’ home” The Lots were previously listed at 2.4 and 2.8 ml and went for $962.5k and $990k respectively and the homes, all of which were fabulous I might add; went for $3.85, 4.95 and $8.1 ml!
The largest home had not been listed previously and was “estimated” to be between $8 and $12 million for over 8,800 sq. ft on 3/4 acre designed by Cher herself. The Ka Nehe Place home had previously been offered for sale at $8.45 million and sold for $4.95ml. This home wowed my socks off (socks in Hawaii heh heh) with it’s barrel arched ceilings and fabulous woodwork throughout.
I feel very blessed to see so many luxurious homes that it is hard to wow me, but this one made me smile all the way home. The designer/owner put every ounce of feelings and luxury together in order to make this home
feel “comfortable,” which is a tremendous feat within nearly 8000 sq. ft. The “small home” of only 5800 sq. ft on Punaloa Place, which had previsouly been offered at $8 million, is now passing to its’ new giddy owner owner for a mere $3.85ml; A bargain in this fabulous resort.
As always, it is a pleasure and an honor to be “in the know” of what’s going on with Big Island real estate, especially in the resort communities of Kukio, Hualalai, Mauna Lani, Mauna Kea and Waikoloa Beach.

Thanks for bringing us the scoop, Pam! There are bargains to be had in Big Island real estate at all price points, it seems.

Great info Pam! There is definitely interest in any auctions in Hawaii from around the world. I look forward to helping a Realtor in Hawaii use an online auction to reach that audience to create a competitive bidding situation to sell their listings.
