Kihei Akahi entrance off South Kihei Raod
One of my favorite locations in south Kihei is Kihei Akahi condos. My 27-month-old, Sunny, and I took a trip down to the complex to take a video of my listing (MLS# 372011) for a client and decided to take some photos.
Just across the street is Kamaole Beach II
There are two pools in the complex with BBQ’s. No onsite management, so it is important to have your own property manager (ask me for a great reference that only charges 20%). Yes! You can do short-term daily rentals in your unit! You can purchase a unit with cash or financing. Financing in Maui can be tricky for these types of properties that are considered “Condotel.” Condotel units act as condos and hotels, so for this reason, it is best to use a local lender. (Ask me for lender references!)
The convenience of a front office that will check in your guests for a small fee; $15, last I checked
Just a little background on the area, South Kihei is the hot spot for travelers in South Maui. The main reason is the beautiful white sand beaches including Charlie Young Beach, Kamaole Beach I, II, and III. My favorite beach after that is Keawakapu Beach. Keawakapu Beach is a continuous, long stretch of beautiful white beach – and lots of sea turtles!
Restaurants are just steps away including Mooses and Freds Mexican food with large margaritas, 808 Deli, 808 Bistro, Café Ole, Maui Thai Bistro, Coconuts Fish Tacos, and S&Q’s yummy coffee and shaved ice stand.
Beautiful ocean views from the high-rise buildings
Mountain views and killer ocean views from many units
The grounds of Kihei Akahi are wide open and beautiful!
Two wooden 2-story buildings and two high-rise concrete structures, which include elevators. Tennis courts just behind the front office, kayak and paddle board storage for a small fee are available to owners when available. Owners are assigned a parking stall and guest parking is available. Maui does not have piped gas, but Kihei Akahi does!
