The Hawaii Life team has begun work on filming season 11 of “Hawaii Life” for their HGTV show. Katie Murar from Pacific Business News interviewed Matt Beall on why this season has a little more of a focus on Oahu.
As Matt told Katie, the seasons run during the fall and winter months when people are most likely to be dreaming of escaping to Hawaii. Matt was in Oahu filming the cold open for the first few episodes of the season on Magic Island.
Upcoming episodes will be filmed on Oahu and will show clients buying homes around the island including Ewa Beach, Kaimuki, and Kakaako. As Hawaii Life has grown into Oahu, the filming has followed suit. For upcoming shows, approximately 55 to 60 percent will be in Oahu. Matt also shared in the interview that affordability is a factor: “I think the show wants to show more of the affordable real estate, which there is more of on Oahu.”

The show features clients who have recently purchased and shares their journey in finding the home of their dreams. Episodes also can prompt potential buyers toward their own journey.
As Matt explained, “We get calls from people that are upset that one house was chosen over another, and we have done deals where those callers become clients and buy one of the other two houses shown in the episode.”
