Hawaii Island

Going, Going, Gone! (Sentiments for New Year)

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the clock to tick down the remaining minutes of this past year. Not one of us will ever forget the tragic events of August 2023. We were all impacted in some way even if it was just to give and support as much as possible. The first sunrise of 2024 will signal, at least in my mind, a new beginning.

For me, I can’t wait to show off the waterfalls of the Hamakua Coast with those so thrilled to be here that they are speechless. I’m looking forward to continuing to spread the good word about the uniqueness of Puna and all it really has to offer! I’ll take extra pleasure in introducing newcomers to true depth and economic strengths found in our sleepy University town of Hilo. The treat of showing property on the west side of the island is something I’ll look forward to with renewed anticipation. As I briefly orient those new to our islands, I’m also reminded how lucky I am to spend each day in Paradise.

As the New Year begins, please re-visit and appreciate why you are here. Sometimes, I think we forget that we live in the most remarkable place on the planet! If you were lucky enough to be born here, thank you for sharing your home with so many of us. We truly do appreciate it. For those I have assisted over the years, I sincerely appreciate you all for entrusting me with a special and personal part of your lives. Whether native, newcomer or kamaaina, let’s greet the New Year with a renewed appreciation of this unique place as it continues to welcome each of us in a special way. Happy New Year!
