Diner en Blanc – An Elegant Night Under the Starry Sky in Ka’a’awa Valley

Have you heard the buzz about the all-white dinner at an exclusive location? About 30 years ago in Paris, François Pasquier began Diner en Blanc with just a handful of friends, and it has now spread to over 30 cities.

You start by purchasing your ticket and confirming your bus pick-up location. Everything has to be white. You bring all your own meal, drinks, tables, chairs, dishware, glassware, linens, and whatever decorations of choice.

You are not informed about the location of the event and have no idea where you’re going to be setting up. As you begin your bus journey to the secret location a guessing game soon reveals a possibility of where you will be enjoying the festivities. You finally arrive at an amazing location where you take a stroll with all the delights you packed to the area you will set up.

I highly recommend you try it at least once. Personally, the first time I heard about the event 3 years ago, I had no interest in attending. As luck would have it this year my vision changed and I was very willing to give it a go.

I am so grateful I had the ability not only to experience the event but this years location was absolutely incredible. We had the privilege of dining under a beautifully clear, starry night with the backdrop of the Kualoa Ridge in the historical and sacred Ka’a’awa Valley at Kualoa Ranch. Various Musicians, plenty of dancing, eating our delicious meals, seeing friends, and making new ones. This location was seen in Jurassic Park and many other Hollywood films, and yes there were dinosaur bones! I would definitely take the time to visit Ka’awa Valley and participating in the next Diner en Blanc.
