Construction Has Begun & the Third Release of Highlands at Kehalani is Here
D.R. Horton Hawaii has announced its third release of Highlands at Kehalani, in Wailuku, Maui. Located on the foothills of the West Maui Mountains and literally at the end of the rainbow, your golden opportunity awaits! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Anyways…
How Many?
Six single-family homes will be available for purchase, with five of the home/lot parcels being on the makai (ocean) side of the street. These five homes are single-story floor plans. Plan 1 (Keola) is a 1,508 sqft, 3 bed/2 bath, and the ever popular Plan 2 (Anuenue) is a 1,528 sqft, 3 bed/2 bath.
Construction is underway.
Only one two-story home is available in this release. Plan 4 (Moana) is a 1,743 sqft, 3 bed/2.5 bath and is located on the mauka (mountain) side of the street.
How Much?
Prices range from $684,000 for the largest home (Plan 4) to $713,000 for a Plan 2. Cost is based not only on floor plan but also on the lot size and location.
Views?
Of course, everything is subject to change, but as it currently stands, the homes on the makai side of the street should have unobstructed ocean views. The makai properties slope down toward a utility easement, which will provide a view corridor, free from buildings and trees. This situation only occurs on the first street in Highlands at Kehalani, similar to Ke’alohilani at Kehalani but of course, there are no guarantees.
Single-story homes on makai (ocean) side of street. Utility easement located below black construction fence.
Lottery
Lottery applications are due Sunday, January 13, 2019, by 4:00 pm. All that is needed at this time is a pre-approval letter from an accredited lender and a completed application. I would be more than happy to help you with both.
The actual lottery will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10:00 am. The first person selected will get first choice of the homes in release 3. The second person selected will get first choice of the remaining 5 homes. For this reason, it’s wise to choose 3 homes from those originally offered in the release. If an individual passes on a chance to buy a home, they must then re-enter the lottery to purchase in each subsequent release.
