With countless coffee farms along the Kona Coast, there are three Kona coffee shops you don’t want to miss: HiCo Hawaiian Coffee, Kona Coffee and Tea Company, and Hualalai Trading Company. Each company has their own unique offerings that boast organic, locally-sourced products, and most importantly, coffee.
HiCo Hawaiian Coffee
This company is known for its rotating menu of coffee beans produced within all the Hawaiian Islands and its conservation involvement within the community. Their goal is to provide coffee-lovers the opportunity to enjoy every coffee flavor the state of Hawaii has to offer. HiCo’s team also cares about giving back. Their mission is to “Be Aware,” which means they are passionate about the protection and preservation of the ocean. Therefore, HiCo partners with CLEAN Reward$ and the Ocean Cleanup as well as hosts events at their cafe to fundraise and actively put efforts towards keeping the oceans clean and plastic-free. Stop by and visit to donate towards these conservation efforts and experience the unique coffee taste from all the Hawaiian Islands.
Kona Coffee and Tea Company
If you are looking for a place to taste Kona, you’ve found it here. Kona Coffee and Tea Company is 100% Kona coffee grown on a single-estate farm. This means that the coffee roasted is solely from the single farm and the seeds planted there. Additionally, for an authentic Ohana-feel, go no place else. Kona Coffee and Tea is owned and operated by one family. This Ohana planted 20 acres of coffee over 20 years ago, which has now grown to over 200 acres. There are very minimal Kona Coffee farms that grow, mill, and roast their own beans, which makes Kona Coffee and Tea the genuine “Farm to Table Cup.” Head on over to experience the original Kona coffee and take a second to appreciate the whole process that brought you a smile from your cup.
Hualalai Trading Company
For those interested in an exclusive luxury-coffee feel, Hualalai Trading Company is the place to visit. This resort shop is known for providing everything under the Kona sun: from coffee to a nostalgic soda bar to shakes and sundaes to salads and sandwiches. Hualalai Trading Company is known for the Hawaii vintage-feel with fun shopping opportunities. Enjoy a unique and special experience in a resort setting filled with the Island of Hawai`i and signature Hualālai gifts.
Next time you are craving a cup, head on over to one of these cafes and enjoy Hawaiian coffee at its finest. If you are interested in growing your own farm to cup, there are a variety of agricultural coffee farm lots available along the slopes of Hualalai Mountain in the coffee belt region.
