The new West Oahu community of Hoopili has broken ground. I had the chance to tour the amazing construction site and the sales center this week. As of now, the plan according to D.R Horton’s sales center is no lottery system for the new homes.
They have not released a sales date as of yet with the hopes of not having a camp out situation. So, currently, the plan will be to reserve your lot and move forward with the building. This may change as the demand has been extremely high in other projects, which has forced the lottery system, but for now that is not their plan.
Some of the first phase model homes of Haakea have already started construction with the pouring of the slabs. A builder such as D.R Horton, who has built all over Hawaii and the Mainland, has it down to a science and they move fast. The first phase of homes are slated for late summer. This will be a long-term plan with numerous parks, paths, and trails throughout the community.
If you have missed out on other projects, now is certainly the time to get involved with this project. Most developers will start with an opening sales price and increase the prices according to the market conditions. This is the time to get in on the ground floor of an amazing long-term project that will only become more valuable in the years to come.
