Lottery on Kualono Lots in Upcountry Maui Delivers Frenzy as Expected

The Lottery was completed on Sunday and all lots are currently reserved. The day started off slowly with only 12 of the top 20 picks showing up to grab a lot. The view lots up top went in the first 3 picks, then people started selecting based on lot size, pricing, etc.

After the first 40 tickets were called, there were still 11 lots, and people that thought they did not have a chance were racing back to the Community Center with the hopes of grabbing a decent pick at 2pm. Many thought the day would end by 1:15. With a few people in the 40s not showing up, the final ticket called ended on #58 for 36 lots available. The last hour had a few of us with sweaty palms; for every person that did not show up, one more person in the audience was selecting a lot in the 50s. I needed a nap when the day was done. Phew, it’s over!!

Congratulations to all of the people that are now holding lots in a 49 lot sold out subdivision. Lots are starting to close as early as next week.

What Now?

There will be resales and homes built to sell. We will be doing fewer blogs from here on out. I will be informing potential Buyers and anyone signing up on my newsletter about potential lots available. Good luck to the large group that was not selected, about 50%, and to the many others that did not hear about the Lottery in time. Get on my newsletter so this does not happen again.
