Do you ever feel uninspired? Well, I have for the past few months. I haven’t been able to motivate myself to write a blog. I say it’s because I’m too busy, but that’s not the reason. Not sure why. I needed some motivation in my life and I got a good dose of that at the awesome Worthshop 3.
This blog isn’t about that, it’s about what drives me to do what I do. And that is sell Real Estate. Or is it? Well, yes, I sell the physical aspects of real estate, but why is it that clients buy what they buy and where they choose to buy it?
Why Move to Maui?
I just recently closed escrow on an amazing unit in Kihei at Kamoa Views. It’s the best unit in the complex with the best ocean views and an amazing remodel. Did my clients buy it for the pure fact of purchasing real estate, or was there some other ulterior motive?
My clients live in Northern California and both have very happy, successful lives, filled with friends and family. What would posses them to pick up and move, not for a few months a year, but for the long haul? How could someone dig up roots that have been growing for years and transplant them into foreign soil (so dramatic, just Maui)? It dawned on me that it’s not just the tasteful remodel, it’s about the lifestyle.
Duh, I just did that 4 years ago. I moved from Los Angeles, where after 25 years of harsh winters (harsh by a Maui boy’s standards), I said enough. Give me a balmy 82 degrees year round. Give me the opportunity to go to the beach in a moment’s notice. Give me the option of not wearing socks. Give me the awesome local food that I grew up with. Give me the opportunity to swim laps at the most amazing pool on the island. The list can go on and on and on.
In the home buying arch, your motivation changes with your experience. Maybe you don’t need 5,000 square feet of living space or 4 baths, or maybe you are tired of living in a 500 square foot studio condo, the idea here is to make a change to better your lifestyle. It may not be Maui. It may be Florida, Italy, Berlin, or Hong Kong. The point is to do it. Life is short. Lifestyle is just as important as getting a good deal on a home.
Am I Selling Real Estate or a Lifestyle?
I sell both! So, thank you to my clients for helping me break through my motivational blog block. Many happy cocktails to you on the patio while watching the whales frolic or the amazing South Kihei sunsets. Cheers to you for making it happen and for choosing me to help you find your Maui life! So, yes, I sell Real Estate and I sell a lifestyle.
