Why Buy Waikoloa Village New Home Construction Instead of an Existing Home?

When people are in the market to purchase a home some will consider new construction while others may prefer an existing home. Given the current Waikoloa Village market with 15 homes for sale in the $300K to $400K price range, this is definitely a place to look and purchase a resale home, but buyers may decide to take advantage of finding exceptional value in new and custom houses.

The Allure of a New Home

Many people find the allure of new construction to be too much to resist. Watching your home emerge from the ground up can be exciting. There is a certain satisfaction to know that everything in a new home is “brand new” and to be the first people to live in the home.

Another advantage of new home construction is the way in which a new home reflects current lifestyles. Family or friends often gather in the kitchen and cooking becomes a group project. Most people on the Big Island want to enjoy their dinner on the lanai while watching wonderful sunsets of the Kohala Coast.

Another advantage of a new construction home is the fact that new homes tend to appreciate at a faster rate in the first two to five years after purchase than do older homes. Part of this can be attributed to the fact that during the first few years you are making improvements to the house such as landscaping, fencing, window coverings, etc.

Homes in Waikoloa Village

Waikoloa Village presently offers homes under construction and existing homes at attractive prices. The purchase of a home is one of the largest financial decisions you make in your lifetime, and there are many things to consider when deciding whether a new construction or a resale home is right for you. I will be happy to show you both resale and new construction and to provide insight to help you make the right decision.

I live, work, and play in Waikoloa Village!

Can’t believe you can still get a gorgeous brand new home for under $400K in Waikoloa Village! Both of these homes truly do reflect Big Island living with the large kitchen/living rooms and spacious outdoor lanai’s. The wood floors and finishes are beautiful! Nice to know they are using the solar windows that help keep the house cool!

Mahalo, Catherine! Viewing this home was a real treat! As you mention, some of the newer construction focuses on modern day “Hawaii Life” and this home had such a great lanai extending from the great room area – plus the expansive ocean views!

Mahalo Catherine! It was a treat to see this home! I appreciate your observation about how new construction can be a good fit for modern Hawaii Life. This home is due to the generous sized lanai that extends from a modern great room. The ocean views from that lanai are gorgeous…what a great value!
