U.S. Open Tennis – Mauna Kea and Hawaii Tennis is Tempting (Big Island Real Estate with Tennis Courts)
It’s tempting to be distracted from real estate tasks when I can watch dazzling live coverage of U.S. Open tennis matches with stars like Federer, Nadal, Venus Williams, Sharapova and Djokovic. If you’re a tennis enthusiast, you know that the event is full of barn-burning matches with American attention-getters like Donald Young, Ryan Harrison, and Christina McHale at Flushing Meadows—Queens, NYC.
Donald Young (above) and Ryan Harrison (2011 champion) played the Honolulu Challenger. It is a heavy hitter event in Hawaii where you can watch tennis phenoms, and players from around the world in an intimate and tropical setting.
Shown above are club players Bob, John, Bob, Freya, and another Bob at the Mauna Kea Resort Seaside Tennis Club, voted #7 by Tennis Resorts Online! I’m not allowed to divulge the names of Top 100 pros who come train at Mauna Kea, but they know that tennis can’t be beat when the temperature is a perfect 72 with light trade winds and you’re only 40 feet from the Pacific!
Tennis can be just as juicy throughout all the Hawaiian chain! Jaw-dropping high-level events and venues rival others around the globe, such as our favorites like the Sony Ericsson Open, (Key Biscayne/Miami FL.) and the tournament at Indian Wells, CA., (BNP/Paribas Open)!
At the U.S. Open in 2003, my husband and I were wined and dined in the President’s Suite and then watched an incredible Agassi vs. Dent match from the front row of Arthur Ashe Stadium! However, throughout our family travels, some of the best tennis memories have been right here in our own Hawaiian backyard!
Above is a picture from the panoramic ocean view Wai’ula’ula condo my buyer just got a screaming deal on. It has easy access to Seaside Tennis Club. Here’s another Wai’ula’ula condo at Mauna Kea that I feel is priced right for the location.
So…please come to Hawaii and enjoy the world of tropical tennis with me and my tennis-playing colleagues! I’d love to introduce you to these properties, or others that might be perfect for you!
- This home with a grass court at a cool elevation could be your retreat.
- Have easy access to Waikoloa Village community tennis courts when you own this condo under $100K! Or this beautiful custom home.
- This Hali’i Kai condo as well as other condo communities in our backyard have private courts for homeowners.
- This property, new on the market, is at 49 Black Sands; an exclusive enclave with tennis courts at Mauna Lani.
On Oahu, we like to play at Diamond Head and head to the University of Hawaii to spectate Division 1 matches of the UH Warriors and Rainbow Wahine.
My son, Spence, and I in 2006 with the legendary Bud Collins. Bud is shown here wearing his signature fancy pants! (Hammersmith Farms, International Tennis Hall of Fame & Awards Ceremonies, Newport, RI.)
Always my best with aloha…Annie
