Unobstructed view from the lanai
This week’s WKRP is a 3 bed/3 bath home (MLS# 242973) priced at $610,000. When I walked out onto the lanai, all I could say was “WOW!” The amazing unobstructed 180-degree view of the Kailua-Kona coastline popped out—I wanted to just sit down and spend the day! There was a cruise ship in town today and you could see the activity in the bay. The sunsets from here have to be spectacular as well.
More than just the incredible view, I loved the floor plan of this home—with a bathroom for each bedroom, open living area, a utility room off the kitchen, and entry with laundry and a sink; the flow really worked.
Light and bright open interior living space
This newer home was built in 2003 in the Kainana Subdivision where there are no monthly association dues—big plus and somewhat rare for newer homes in Kona.
New ceiling fans provide wonderful air flow. New bamboo floors are easy-care and cool on the feet. The lot is bordered with rock walls and there is even locking entry gate with punch pad access plus an interior security alarm for extra security and privacy. Perhaps now is the time to purchase that second home in Kona that you’ve been dreaming about? This one fits the bill!

Ah HA! Erik and I should start a weekly pool to guess which property you’re going to blog about… we both guessed this one!!! Great pick! Heidi sold the property next door as a short sale last year. I really like this neighborhood and the views are outstanding!!! Do you think there is room for a narrow lap pool in the backyard??

@Katie, Great minds think alike – heehee. Lap pool would be a wonderful addition and good use of the space. There are already stairs down to the lower level to provide the access. Lap pool and an outdoor shower would definitely top it off!

I viewed this house as soon as it came on the market and then showed it to buyers I was working with…and I was surprised that it was on caravan as I thought it would go right away…so Martha, I agree with you on this house. Great views, great floor plan, wide open entry – great location around much higher priced homes…you do pick them. Great eye on the market.

Ooopss… Ahem. My bad. What I meant to say was, “gambling is illegal in the great state of Hawaii.” I hereby withdraw my offer, sorry Martha! 😉
